Known for her work in television, blockbusters, and advertising, her films as a leading actress have grossed over $9.8 billion worldwide. Her accolades include two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe. She has been featured on Forbes' 30 under 30 list, and in 2022, Time named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world.
Born in Oakland, California, Zendaya began her career as a child model and dancer before gaining prominence for her roles on the Disney Channel sitcoms Shake It Up (2010–2013) and K.C. In 2011, Zendaya released the singles "Swag It Out" and "Watch Me", the latter a collaboration with Bella Thorne. Signed to Hollywood Records, she released the studio album Zendaya in 2013. Its lead single, "Replay", peaked in the top 40 of the US Billboard Hot 100 and earned multi-platinum certifications. Her duet with Zac Efron, "Rewrite the Stars", from The Greatest Showman soundtrack (2017), charted in the top 20 and achieved multi-platinum status in various countries. Zendaya also wrote and performed several songs for Euphoria, co-performing "All for Us" and "I'm Tired" with Labrinth whom she co-wrote the songs with during Coachella in 2023.
Zendaya's first book was Between U and Me: How to Rock Your Tween Years with Style and Confidence (2013), and she is known for her longtime partnership with stylist Law Roach. In November 2021, she became the youngest person to ever win the CFDA Fashion Icon award at the CFDA Fashion Awards. She has been the brand ambassador for Tommy Hilfiger, a spokesmodel for Lancôme, Bulgari, Valentino, and Louis Vuitton, and the global brand ambassador for Glaceau Smartwater.
