Privacy

We don’t sell or share any personal information. With an account, we keep your email, your postal code or city (to find the shows near you) and the bands you follow; you can erase all of it from “My bands”. Audience statistics (Google Analytics) are only loaded once you accept them; you can change your mind with “Cookies” at the bottom of any page. About the people listed: we only publish professional information that is already public (bands, instruments, records, public biography), never private details. To have something corrected or removed, write to hello@somanybands.com.

To show bands from your area on the home page, your IP address is roughly located (country and state or province) in a database kept on our server; it is not sent anywhere else or stored. This product includes GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind, available from https://www.maxmind.com.

The “Follow on Facebook” button at the bottom of each page is first a plain button of ours. When you click it (or right away, if you accepted cookies), our Facebook page module loads from Facebook, which may then set its own cookies and know you saw the page, under its own rules.
