Poor Man's Poison est un groupe folk américain d'Hanford, en Californie. Le groupe est formé en 2009 ; après une pause en 2014, ils se rejoignent en 2019, en se concentrant cette fois sur la réalisation de singles en studio plutôt que dans la production d'albums ou de performances live.

Surtout défini par leurs sons acoustiques, ils sont catégorisés dans plusieurs genres, comme le folk, country, rock et pop ; le bassiste Dustin Medeiros déclare qu'ils « ne peuvent être mis dans une seule catégorie ».

Poor Man's Poison is an American music group from Hanford, California. The lineup since its creation consists of guitarists Ryan Hakker and Michael Jacobs, mandolinist Tommy McCarthy and double bassist Dustin Medeiros; all members share vocal duties, although Hakker usually acts as lead vocalist.

The band was originally formed in 2009 from the remnants of Done For Good, another band by Hakker, McCarthy and Medeiros; after a hiatus in 2014, they reformed in 2019, this time more focused on releasing studio singles rather than producing albums or performing live. Mostly defined by their acoustic sound, they have been categorized as various genres, including alternative country, indie folk and gothic country; Medeiros has claimed that the band "cannot be pinned down in one specific category".
