Death from Above, également connu sous le nom de Death from Above 1979, est un groupe de rock indépendant canadien, originaire de Toronto, en Ontario. Les membres sont Jesse F. Keeler (basse/synthé/chœur) et Sebastien Grainger (chant/batterie). Formé en 2001 puis officiellement séparé en 2006, le groupe s'est reformé en 2011.

Death from Above 1979 (also known as Death from Above or DFA 1979) is a Canadian rock duo from Toronto, Ontario, formed in 2001 by bassist Jesse F. Keeler and drummer and vocalist Sebastien Grainger. The band released their debut album, You're a Woman, I'm a Machine, in 2004 and broke up in 2006. They reformed in 2011 and released their second album, The Physical World, in 2014. Since then the band has released two more albums, Outrage! Is Now in 2017 and Is 4 Lovers in 2021. A fifth, Private Lives, is slated for release in January 2027.

Né de la parano techno des années 2000, le duo dance‑punk DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979 trace depuis 2001 une trajectoire cathartique sans relâche. De temps à autre, ils reviennent faire percuter leur mur du son contre les gratte‑ciel que l’air du temps a érigés. You’re a Woman, I’m a Machine (2004), The Physical World (2014), Outrage! Is Now (2017) et Is 4 Lovers (2021)… et en 2026, ils redécollent pour célébrer leurs 25 ans avec un cinquième album, Private Lives, attendu à l’automne. Ils ont traversé l’ère des CD, des MP3, du piratage, du streaming et même le chaos de l’IA sans jamais fléchir, enchaînant riffs surpuissants, hurlements de ténor déjanté et rythmes frénétiques de jeunes bums. Allez-vous embarquer avec eux en tournée? Allez-vous plonger dans le son 100 % brut? Un coup de klaxon pour OUI, deux pour HELL YES.
